Global warming is an issue!

Global warming is an issue!
By: Lilyan Silva

Many scientist have already stated that global warming is a big threat to the world. I think that global warming is an issue because it will affect us all in the future. The world we live in today is changing dramatically already.

Illustration of the Greenhouse Gas effect

Human activity increases the amount of greenhouse gases, mainly carbon dioxide from the burning fossil fuels (iron, coal, and natural gas). The extra greenhouse gases is trapping to much heat making the Earth's temperatures rising higher then what they are normally set to be.

Global warming has already taken an effect on the polar bears. Polar bears are considered marine mammals because they spend most of their lives on the ice in the Arctic Ocean. Since temperatures have risen due to global warming the ice in the arctic has melted dramatically polar bears have lost habitats and have drone from not being able to find ice the gain strength. They have been considered a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act in May 2008.

We need to start making the Earth a safer place for the future. We can do this by just doing simple tasks such as recycling and walking instead of taking the bus or cars.

  1. I agree with what you have to say Lily, but with taking buses, they still give off co2 from the exhaust and on top of that, it's worse from buses then from cars because buses don't have to follow the same regulation rules as cars. They should have to follow the same rules as cars and be cleaner when it comes to the exhaust. Also I think the Polar Bear was a great example to use to show the effect global warming is having on the earth as a whole.
