Global Warming Is A Threat To The Biosphere!
              By: Luc Ribble

The earth is a very precious piece of land in our solar system that is essential for us to live, and if it was to be destroyed by our actions through greenhouse gases, the earth that is millions of years old will have been wasted for nothing.  This blog is informing people on how they should be aware of global warming and know how to protect the earth from its human effect of greenhouse gases.

I personally think that human activities are playing a major role in the global warming crisis.  The three biggest greenhouse gas contributors are Carbon Dioxide, Methane and water vapor.  Some man made activities that cause global warming are  burning fossil fuels (factories, cars, electrical industries etc), landfills and some animals digesting release methane.  The activities that us humans are participating in are going to have long term effects in the future and could send our race resorting to different planets to live.  Global warming does have natural causes such as humans and animals respiring, volcanic eruptions releasing carbon dioxide and Changes in the Earth’s solar radiation levels can have some impact on the Earth’s climate. Increased solar activity can cause short-term warming cycles on the Earth.  These natural effects are not controllable and are essential for life on earth and without this process the earth would not be warm enough for life.  But we as humans need to contribute to earths climate change and help reduce carbon emissions to benefit everyone and everything on earth.

The global warming crisis in our world is not just going to affect humans it will also affect other living plants and animals. For example, if we cause the earth's temperature to rise high enough to melt the majority of the polar ice caps, the polar bears especially and other creatures will not have anywhere to live and will either starve or drown.  Also if too many greenhouse gasses keep depleting the ozone layer, such as methane and carbon dioxide, then the ozone layer will eventually be too small to reflect the suns strong light and all living things on earth will be affected and the suns UV rays will be too strong for things to live.  It is a fact that on the “hockey stick” graph when the carbon dioxide levels increase on earth the temperature also increases.  This states that as we produce more carbon emissions the earth's climate will keep warming throughout the next decades and will affect everyone.  And thats how the greenhouse effect works.

There are groups of people out there who are called anti-climatists and they believe that all of earths global warming causing effects are not man made and they are all natural causes.  They also believe that earth will adapt to the warming of earth and they think that climatologists are overreacting about global climate change.  But both sides do agree that global warming is happening, the temperature increases when the carbon dioxide levels increase and there are greenhouse gasses present.  For starters, human activities that release carbon emissions and greenhouse gasses are contributing to global warming way more than natural causes.  This is true because before the industrial era the carbon levels were two times lower than after the industrial era!  Next the earth can't all adapt to the global warming change because the cold areas that have animals such as polar bears and snow hears will not be able to provide the temperature for them to survive and there species eventually could go extinct.  Lastly the climatologist are not overreacting about the situation because this could happen in the future if we don't change our ways and help the earth out and be good people.
In the end I think as humans we need to change our ways on how we think about global warming and the earth.  We need to think straight and reduce our carbon emissions as good samaritans of earth.  Helping the earth will benefit every thing on earth from humans to animals.  By reducing greenhouse gasses (not through natural process) we will be able to relax and not worry about global warming, the polar bears (and other living things the depend on cold weather to survive) will be safe from extinction and be happy as well.  Please do the world a favor, reduce your emissions, be happy and live your life knowing that you've done something great for the world.  Go and make a difference!  I know I will.
